Highly recommend that anyone watching SWU content read the Concrete Confessional addiction blog's article on the ethical issues / controversies of Mark Laita and SWU. People with backgrounds in medicine, law, and social work are starting to call him out on the dangers of what he's doing to vulnerable people, and Mark's defense of "I'm not going to listen to anything from anyone who does less than me" is starting to sound pretty unreasonable.

I'm just catching up after crazy uni time. There is a whole lot of research showing that blue light blockers don't actually help at all. However....as someone who gets eye fatigue and strain as well as light sensitivity, I say they are wrong. Lol.

why shouldn't I have line spaces between paragraphs? doesn't it make it look more organized and easier to edit if you have line spaces?

If I'm being completely honest, I'd love to be a writer and a freelance editor at the same time. The reason of that is derived from my meticulousness to minute details and joy while learning something linguistic. I believe that editor's job is literally for me even though I am a non-native English speaker. Best regards from Ukraine! Keep up the great work!

I'm glad you said you need "time and energy" to write. People often think "time" is enough, but it is not. When there is a lot of work, relaxing to stay healthy and happy is better than forcing yourself to write.

Welcome back Natalia! I actually rewatched one of your older writing vlogs to boost my mood during a slow sprint ❤ Glad to hear the kitty is doing okay now!

I would check for FIV, or FELV, and FIP if you hadn't already. Hopefully that's not the case.

When I'm drafting I manage 1500 words a day, sometimes less, sometimes way more. But redrafting or editing is the bane of my existence! Today I managed precisely nothing! I should have been doing a read through and notes on a script (I write scripts and prose), but today - nothing! I've drunk alcohol and smoked cigars, and spent the day talking things through with an AI. This is both useful and frustrating. It's an AI. It's not creative. Having it try to come up with alternative titles for my scripts was so funny I just had to stop. Thank God it doesn't have feelings! Lol. I suppose what I'm saying is that no, you can't always power through. Sometimes you have to stop and piss away the day doing something meandering or pointless. It recharges your batteries. My neurotic writer brain can only cope with so much! But thanks for the video. Nice to see others struggling with similar problems. I don't know why. It sounds rather spiteful, but I suppose it's knowing you are not alone.

Repetition was one I did. I would introduce an idea and cycle around it in the rest of the scene, repeating the thought as I fleshed it out in the first draft. I didn't realize until I was having a play produced and one of the actors asked , "Wait, which 'Why is that?' is this one, the second or third?" And I looked back over the scene and realized I had repeated myself in ONE scene three times. It made me hyper vigilant about repetition (unless intentional for emphasis) in the rest of my writing.

Hi Natalia. Thank you for an amazing video. But, are you saying a proofreader is not expected to correct grammar errors, punctuation errors,. spelling errors etc.? Are those part of the work of a copyeditor?

Absulutely agree! The marketing is the one thats intimidating to me, I must say. I dont use social media but I KNOW that social media is the way to go. I dont use Facebook or Instagram, but know that I HAVE to use it to sell books. And I am willing to overcome my reluctance towards social media to build a presence there and market the hell outta it, as you put it. 😂 I DO believe in myself and already call myself a writer even though I havent published anything YET.
